Winona-Ryder
Winona Laura Horowitz professionally known by the name Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. Her name was chosen by her parents after the town where she was raised up. The father of her Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder, who considers herself Jewish and descends from Ryder's Jewish father. She has a younger brother Uria and half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. When Ryder was just seven years old, her family moved into Mendocino County California. The family resided in an area without electric power. Ryder was a voracious bookworm and would spend her days reading books because there was no TV. Ryder began taking acting lessons in the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 at the age of 12 years old. Ryder landed her first film role on the big screen in 1986 when she was 15 years young. Ryder was bullied throughout high school. She hoped acting might change the situation. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. But that didn't stop her following her dreams. Beetlejuice, a 1988 Tim Burton film, was her first major break. Ryder kept playing successful roles in various films. In 1993, she received an Oscar Award for The Age of Innocence.
